Huge crowds are expected when rugby league returns to Central Park, Wingham, this Saturday.
The Wingham Tigers will play Wauchope in a special one-off Group Three match that will mark the first time an official game has been played on the park in 45 years.
The match will be the culmination of the Centenary of League celebrations that will sweep through Wingham from tomorrow.
Group Three secretary Barrie Smith was the one who suggested the return to Central Park, saying the competition game would be the perfect finale to the massive week of events.
The field will run east-west, that is with try lines running parallel to the Wynter and Bent Streets ends of the park.
Special grandstands will be set up to house what is expected to be a massive crowd.
Games kick off with the under 18s at 11.30am.
The first grade match, on at 3pm, is set to be fierce because the Tigers have a score to settle as they went down to the Blues 32-16 earlier in the month.
The post-game function will be held at the Australian Hotel (Top Pub).
