Year 12 shows charitable side

1/07/2008 12:08:00 PM
The year 12 students of Wingham High School showed their heart last Saturday, raising more than $1700 for the Manning Hospital emergency department (ED).

The hospital's ED is the chosen charity for the year group in 2008 and the Year 12 Fete, held in the school's quadrangle, was just one of the many events the cohort has planned for the year.

The fete proved to be a fun morning full of surprises for those who attended.

There were plenty of attractions to keep the crowds entertained, including performances from the school's talented musicians including Tenika Vakauta and Kim Bird.

Some teachers even took to the stage for a few musical numbers.

The white elephant stall also helped to boost the fundraising total.

Keep an eye out for more year 12 fundraising drives as the end of the year approaches.
